A lifelong Clevelander, Attorney James M. Smolinski grew up in South Euclid, Ohio, and attended Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School ('01). "Jim" earned a B.A. from St. Bonaventure University ('05) and his J.D. from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law ('12).

Before joining HMW as a Personal Injury Attorney in 2021, Attorney Smolinski represented clients in diverse and complex criminal and civil matters over 7+ years as a law firm Associate, Of Counsel Attorney, and in his own private practice. Mr. Smolinski has made appearances in 40+ courts and tribunals across Ohio and has successfully attained judgments and secured settlements through litigation and alternative dispute resolution. In addition to Ohio State Courts, Mr. Smolinski is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Ohio.

Family | Personal

Jim was introduced to the legal profession through his former employment with the Cuyahoga County and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations - where he remains an active member. Jim loves Miniature Schnauzers, Golf, Poker, and watching Cleveland’s Professional Sports Teams; he lives in Brecksville-Broadview Heights with his beloved Wife, Halle, who is a Nurse Practitioner.
